Estimating Your Project

Covering the Basics

We will have a few initial questions for you when we begin working on your initial quote. Some things you will be asked include:

  • Does your project involve new cabinets?
  • Will you be reusing your appliances?
  • Do you need us to remove the existing material in your home?
  • Will you be doing stone backsplash?

Initial Quote

To receive the most accurate initial quote, we will need the following:

  • Cabinet plans or a rough sketch that includes the dimensions. A reference photo of the existing area is helpful.
  • Contact information like your name, phone number, email and project address.
  • Material selection: do you plan on doing natural stone or quartz? Do you have a color selection in mind?
  • Sink selection: will you be providing sinks or would you like us to provide one?

You can expect to receive your initial quote within 24 hours.

Once we have all your information, we do our best to email the quote to you directly. Your initial quote is an estimate and may change based on final measurements taken at your template appointment, material selection, edge profile. Your final price will be based on what is measured and confirmed at the time of template.

Next Steps

If you approve of your initial quote, please sign, date and return a copy to our office.

Deposit

After we have received your signed quote, you will receive an e-mail link directly from QuickBooks to pay your deposit. A 50% deposit is required before scheduling your template appointment.

All About Templating

A countertop template is a physical or digital pattern used to ensure a new countertop fits precisely in a specific space. It is created on-site after the cabinets are installed and captures all necessary details like wall contours, overhangs, and cutouts for sinks, providing an accurate blueprint for the fabricator.

Templating Purpose

  • Ensures a Perfect Fit
    • Because walls are rarely perfectly straight, a template is crucial for creating a custom-fit countertop that will have no to minimal gaps.

  • Captures Precise Details
    • The template marks the exact location and size for sinks, faucets, and cooktops, and specifies the desired overhang for all exposed edges.

  • Guides Fabrication
    • Once the template is complete, it serves as the guide for cutting the final countertop material, which can be expensive stone like granite or quartz.

Methods

  • Traditional templating
    • This involves creating a physical pattern from materials like wood strips, cardboard, or plastic that are cut and assembled on-site.

  • Digital Templating
    • This modern approach uses a high-intensity laser or camera to scan the space and create a precise, 3D digital model. This data is then sent to the fabrication shop.

Why it's Important

  •  Reduces Errors
    • An accurate template minimizes the risk of costly mistakes during the cutting and installation process.

  • Simplifies Installation
    • A precise template makes the final installation smoother and faster.

  • Aides in Material Planning
    • The template helps fabricators lay out cuts efficiently, which can help minimize material waste.

After Template

If there are no changes at the time of template, we will begin fabrication in our shop immediately. If there are changes made at the time of your template appointment, a member of our team will reach out to go over the changes and price increases.

Install Schedule

The time from template to install is 5-7 business days. A member of our team will call you to confirm a two-hour arrival window for install. If you have any scheduling restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Install

The time for install is dependent on the size of your project. We recommend planning for an entire day of work being conducted in your home.

If your project includes a full-height backsplash, we will template the backsplash measurements once we have installed your new counters. Typically we are able to be back within 48 hours to install the backsplash, but a member of our team will reach out to you to confirm your project timeline.
